Craftsmanship and tradition are the foundation for our Roasted Pumpkin Seed Oil: The pumpkins mature on the fields of our organic farmers in Austria and Hungary. After the harvest, the large, hull-less oil pumpkin seeds are peeled from the pumpkins, cleaned in clear water and then gently roasted so that the wonderful roasted aromas can develop. For our Pumpkin Seed Oil, we only press the seeds of the “Styrian pumpkin” variety. It takes 30 to 50 pumpkins – which corresponds to 2.5 kilograms of dried and roasted organic pumpkin seeds to produce a single litre of oil.
Ideas for recipes and use of Roasted Pumpkin Seed Oil
Pumpkin Seed Oil has a distinctive individual flavor which makes it an allrounder in application: Not just the classics like vanilla ice cream and pumpkin soup, but also salads, raw or warm vegetables receive a pleasantly piquant note when this oil is added. A couple of splashes on jacket potato or on warm goat’s cheese provide an especially hearty culinary experience.
